Day

1

Dublin to Kilkenny

Tuesday

A Cead Mile Failte is extended on arrival at Dublin Airport by your friendly driver/guide.   We will stop for a light lunch at the charming pub - An Poitin Still.  We continue to Kilkenny, where we meet a local guide who will lead us on an entertaining tour of the town’s medieval past while bringing to life the stories and characters of Kilkenny's history.  This evening we will enjoy a welcome reception and dinner at our hotel.

2

Dunbrody & Waterford

Wednesday

After a leisurely breakfast we will follow in the footsteps of a group of Famine emigrants as we board a replica of the sailing vessel Dunbrody at the quayside in New Ross.   Afterwards, we stop in the Viking city of Waterford and visit the Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre, where we will see craftsman create beautiful pieces of the world-famous crystal.  This evening we will be met by local jarvies who will take us on a jaunting car to Quills Farmhouse where we will be treated to a traditional farmhouse meal complete with live entertainment provided by local musicians.

Kingdom of Kerry

Thursday

We make an early start this morning as we begin our drive along the scenic Ring of Kerry Road.  Our journey will take us to the edge of Ireland passing through quaint towns and villages, including Moll’s Gap, a mountain pass that offers breath-taking views of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountains.  We will visit a traditional working farm where you will be treated to a delightful display of sheep dogs hard at work.

Wild Atlantic Experience & the Cliffs

Friday

We depart Killarney for Doolin where we will board a cruise on the Atlantic Ocean to view the mighty Cliffs of Moher.  We will enjoy a lunch at Gus O’Connor’s Pub, a local favourite since it was first established in 1832.  We then traverse the lunar-landscaped terrain of the Burren, before reaching Galway, where we are met by a local guide who will lead us on a walking tour of the city while entertaining us with tales of local legends and characters in addition to providing tips on shopping, local restaurants, and pubs.   This evening you can put all this new-found knowledge to good use and enjoy a night on the town!

Galway & Kylemore Abbey

Saturday

First on the agenda today is a visit to The Dan O'Hara Homestead, an award-winning heritage centre where we will gain a unique insight into the history and heritage of Connemara, ending with freshly baked scones with tea and coffee in the old farmhouse.  Our journey takes us to Kylemore Abbey, a monastery founded in 1920 for Benedictine Nuns who fled Belgium in WW1, before arriving back in Galway.

Enniskillen

Sunday

After breakfast we visit the beautiful village of Mullaghmore on the wild Atlantic way. Overlooked by the majestic Classiebawn Castle on the shores of Donegal Bay. After, we continue on to Belleek, home of the world-famous porcelain factory. Then the town of Enniskillen, in County Fermanagh, where you will have free time to shop, enjoy a coffee in a local café or grab a refreshing pint in a local pub.

Derry & Giants Causeway

Monday

Today we head north to Derry, where a local guide will tell the “Story of Derry” on a walking tour of this historic walled city. Later, we will stand on the shoulders of giants and learn about the legend of the iconic pillars with our guide at the Giants Causeway.

Belfast & Titanic

Tuesday

This morning we visit the Harland and Wolff Shipyard and the Titanic Experience, where you will take a self-guided tour of this top European attraction. We will undertake a panoramic tour of Belfast which will include the political wall murals located on the Protestant Shankill Road and the Catholic Falls Road. Later this afternoon we head to Lisburn and the Irish Linen Museum where we will trace the history of Irish linen production in Ulster and view live spinning and weaving demonstrations. Tonight, we will enjoy a pre-dinner drink before dining at our hotel.

Saint Patrick & Dublin

Wednesday

We journey south this morning into Saint Patrick’s Country to visit the grave of Ireland’s Patron Saint and the Saint Patrick Centre which tells his story.  We will stretch our legs in the in town of Carlingford whose medieval layout is still evident in its narrow lanes and small streets. Dublin is a great city for dining, where you can not only indulge in traditional Irish fayre, but also choose from a great selection of fine dining restaurants and bistros that feature cuisines from around the world.

Dublin's 'Fair City'

Thursday

Today is a free day to explore the ‘Fair City.’  During this time, you may wish to visit some of Dublin’s most famous attractions including Trinity College, Kilmainham Gaol, EPIC, and Phoenix Park (all optional).  Tonight, we will enjoy cocktails and a delicious 3-course meal on a exclusive dinner cruise that will take us along a scenic stretch of the Grand Canal in Dublin.
