Favourite RIT trip?
Its so hard to choose but one of my favourite places that I’ve visited was Killarney. We stayed there for 3 nights on our Kerry Royal Tour, it is such a vibrant town with tons of great pubs, shops and restaurants. There is always live music and the people, as in all of Ireland, are so friendly and have a wonderful sense of humour. Killarney was also a great jumping off point to visit places like the Ring of Kerry, Dingle, Tralee and Kenmare, to name a few. During my stay we took to take a Jaunting Car Ride, which was so much fun, even when the horse decided he’d had enough and took us back to his place instead of the scheduled route!
Where haven’t you explored yet?
In the future, I would love to do our North Coast and Islands tour! Even though I’m born and raised in Scotland, it is very different going back as a visitor, I have a much greater appreciation for the beauty of the land and the warmth of the people. The scenery on the West Coast and Islands is nothing short of magical, it definitely conjures up images of all the mythical creatures like Kelpies, Faeries, Finfolk, Selkies, the Loch Ness Monster….and of course, Jamie Fraser! Now I’m getting homesick!
I would also like to go back to The Cotswold’s, and some other English towns like York, Oxford, Windsor and Bath etc. I love architecture and all of these places tell stories of so many eras spanning through time. You can see fantastic buildings and structures from Medieval, Tudor, Georgian, Victorian and even Roman times, its amazing!. Then there is the wonderful cozy atmosphere of the old Inns and pubs in the UK and Ireland that you just can’t beat! The variety and quality of food is incredible, I always like to try the local specialties and I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed. I would go back to Cornwall just for the pasties and cream teas!
