Baggage

All passengers are permitted one checked bag and one carry-on bag.
Checked luggage: Total weight allowance is 23 kg (51 lb). Length + width + height must not exceed 158 cm (62 in).
Carry-on luggage: Total weight allowance is 10 kg (22 lb). Dimensions would be 23 x 40 x 51 cm (9 x 16 x 20 in) (including wheels and handles)

Overweight baggage: CA $75 (or local foreign currency equivalent) if weight exceeds the free baggage allowance (maximum 32 kg (70 lb) per piece).

Additional pieces:
CA $100 (or local foreign currency equivalent) for the first additional piece over the free allowance
CA $200 (or local foreign currency equivalent) per additional piece thereafter

For passengers travelling in Club Class, additional baggage is allowed of 2 pieces per person. The total weight allowance is 33 kg (72 lb) total combined weight of 2 pieces.

Baggage

Checked baggage: WestJet accept bags up to 157 centimetres (62 inches) in combined dimension (length + width + height) and 23 kilograms (50 pounds). Any piece of baggage exceeding the size or weight allowance is subject to all applicable oversized weight and size restrictions and fees.

Carry-on baggage: Each guest in a confirmed seat is allowed one free piece of carry-on baggage and one personal item, total. Items which do not fit into the sizing device or exceed our carry-on allowance will be placed in checked baggage and applicable baggage fees may be collected. Carry-on baggage dimensions: 53 cm x 23 cm x 38 cm (21 in. x 9 in. x 15 in.) Examples include but are not limited to a: Backpack, Bag or Suitcase.

Check-in options and times

You can use web check in, a mobile device or an airport kiosk to check in up to 24 hours before your flight, or check in up to three hours before your flight with an agent at Guest assistance.
Boarding passes will be issued to qualified guests once check in has been completed through online check in, a kiosk at the airport or at Guest assistance. Guests must have their boarding passes (printed or electronic), baggage tags and baggage dropped off before our cut-off times.
You’ll need your:

• passport

Give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport, complete check in, drop off your baggage, and go through security and customs (if applicable). Unfortunately, guests who do not meet our minimum cut-off times (below) for check-in or baggage drop will be denied travel and/or baggage acceptance, with no exception.

The cut-off times shown below may not represent the amount of time required to drop off baggage and to go through security. We recommend that you arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before a domestic flight and at least 120 minutes before an international flight.

You should arrive at the boarding gate at least 40 minutes before flight departure – and here’s why. If you arrive less than 10 minutes before departure you will be denied boarding. WestJet is not responsible for missed flights, transfers, or any portion of onward travel due to late arrival at the gate.
