Welsh Adventure - Highlights of Wales

Today you will arrive in Wales and travel into the beautiful Brecon Beacons where your accommodation for the next two nights will be. This area is surrounded by a variety of scenic and historical attractions, making it an excellent base for exploring the broader area of South Wales.

Overnight—Brecon Beacons

The Brecon Beacons National Park is home to beautiful waterfalls, such as those in the Waterfall Country, where visitors can enjoy serene walks through lush woodlands and view cascading falls. For a more relaxed experience, explore the picturesque Llangorse Lake, ideal for canoeing, fishing, and leisurely walks. The area also boasts charming towns like Hay-on-Wye, famous for its second-hand bookshops, and Abergavenny, known for its food festival and historic castle. History buffs can visit Big Pit National Coal Museum or explore the nearby Caerphilly Castle, one of the largest medieval fortifications in Wales. The award-winning whisky distillery of Penderyn is also located in the area if you fancy a tour!

Heading North today, you can explore picturesque towns like Bala and Llangollen, visit the historic Harlech Castle, enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and canoeing in Bala Lake, and take in the stunning landscapes of the Elan Valley and Cadair Idris mountain range.


Overnight—Snowdonia/Caernarfon area

In Snowdonia, adventure seekers can hike up Mount Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales, for breathtaking panoramic views, or explore the Swallow Falls and the Fairy Glen for serene, natural beauty. For a more relaxed experience, visit the tranquil Llyn Gwynant and Llyn Padarn, both ideal for walking, kayaking, or simply enjoying the scenery. The picturesque village of Betws-y-Coed is a popular gateway to the park, with charming cafes and local shops. Driving from Snowdonia to Aberystwyth offers a scenic journey through the heart of Wales, with stunning views of the Cambrian Mountains.  Explore the historic town of Machynlleth with its Welsh cultural heritage and visit the Rheidol Railway for a scenic steam train ride.
