This was the second time I booked a holiday with RIT and it didn’t disappoint. The itinerary, the tour guide, the hotels, the meals… everything was top notch…
Upon arrival at Glasgow Airport, you will be greeted by your Tour Manager before travelling into the vibrant city of Glasgow. Enjoy a panoramic coach tour showcasing some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, followed by a visit to the magnificent Glasgow Cathedral. We then head to the lively West End where a delightful lunch awaits. Later, continue to your charming historic four-star countryside hotel where you can relax and settle in. This evening, enjoy a warm Scottish welcome with a special dinner at the hotel.
Step into Scotland’s past with a visit to the magnificent Stirling Castle, one of the country’s most historically significant fortresses. After exploring its impressive halls and ramparts, continue to the nearby village of Doune for a visit to Deanston Distillery. Known for its commitment to sustainability, this distillery offers a fascinating insight into the traditional methods and craftsmanship behind whisky production. Your tour concludes with a tasting of Scotland’s famed “Uisge Beatha” — the “water of life.” Slàinte!
A day rich in Scottish traditions and local experiences. Begin with an engaging presentation exploring Scotland’s clans, tartans, and family histories. Discover the stories behind more than 500 tartans and learn about the origins and traditions that continue to shape Scottish identity today.
Next, visit Campbell’s Bakery, where generations of expertise have created one of Scotland’s most beloved treats. Enjoy a demonstration and, of course, a sample of their famous shortbread.
After an included lunch, continue to the magnificent Drummond Castle Gardens. Dating back to the 15th century, these spectacular formal gardens are among the finest in Europe and have featured in numerous films and television productions, including Outlander.
Today we visit St Andrews, one of Scotland’s most historic and picturesque towns.
Explore the famous Old Course, regarded as the birthplace of golf, stroll through the charming streets, and discover the ruins of St Andrews Cathedral and Castle. With its rich history, coastal setting, and vibrant atmosphere, St Andrews remains one of Scotland’s most beloved destinations.
This evening, enjoy dinner at one of the town’s historic restored landmarks before returning to Dunblane.
Spend the day exploring Edinburgh, Scotland’s enchanting capital city. Begin with a visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia, the former floating residence of the British Royal Family. Afterwards, head into the heart of the city to wander the historic Royal Mile, lined with charming shops, historic buildings, and lively pubs. You may also wish to visit the iconic Edinburgh Castle, perched dramatically above the city. This evening, enjoy a memorable Scottish banquet featuring traditional music, storytelling, and dance, accompanied by a four-course dinner — and perhaps your first taste of haggis.
Today is yours to enjoy at leisure. Relax and take advantage of the hotel’s facilities or venture out to explore independently. With convenient rail connections nearby, you may choose to revisit cities such as Stirling, Edinburgh, or Glasgow, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the Scottish countryside.
Today we discover the natural beauty of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Enjoy a scenic cruise on Loch Katrine, taking in the tranquil waters and stunning Highland landscapes that inspired writers and artists for generations.
We also visit the charming villages of Aberfoyle and Callander, where there is time to browse local shops and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of rural Scotland.
Included today is a visit to a traditional local pub before returning to the hotel for our farewell dinner.
Your Heart of Scotland adventure comes to an end today. Transfer to Glasgow Airport for your onward journey home, taking with you lasting memories of Scotland’s history, culture, landscapes, and warm hospitality.
