Updated (August 4, 2020)

Dear guests,

We hope you are staying safe and healthy in these unprecedented times. In late February, we were excited and very much looking forward to the 2020 travel season. Our team on the ground were working hard to ensure another wonderful year of tours and memorable vacations for you in Ireland, Scotland, England & Wales.

Unfortunately, as you are all aware, things have changed significantly since then and we have pushed back the start of our touring season several times. After much deliberation and discussion, we have now made the difficult decision to postpone our coach and sightseeing tours until April 2021. This has not been an easy decision for us, but we feel it is the right one at this time.

The safety and enjoyment of our guests has always been paramount, and we feel that this year we cannot deliver on these two essential aspects of our tours. There is a lot of uncertainty around group sizes and social distance protocols as well as restrictions on group sizes in dining rooms, bars and visitor attractions. With this in mind, we have decided to spend this time preparing for the future, and we are looking ahead and focusing on 2021. We are working hard with all our wonderful partners in Ireland & the UK to ensure we can continue to deliver our authentic, hand crafted experiences in the future.

Again, we want to thank you for your continued support of Royal Irish Tours. It is because of you, our valued guests, that we are able to offer these unique & memorable vacation experiences and we hope you can enjoy them and these beautiful destinations in the not too distant future.

Stay safe & healthy,
Yours in travel,
Ian Duffy
Founder & President

Your safety & enjoyment are our top priorities. In 2021, we have made some important changes to our tours and some new additions to ensure you can have a memorable, authentic and amazing trip to Ireland, Scotland, England or Wales. Below are some of the updates.

The Republic of Ireland and the UK have introduced a standard set of criteria to ensure the tourism sector continues to operate safely and respectfully in these times. We have invested in training our staff and refitting our coaches to ensure they are perfectly safe to travel on given the new protocols. We will also now only work with hotels, attractions, restaurants and other tourism businesses who have received the ‘We’re Good to Go’ mark (UK) and the Covid-19 Safety Charter (Ireland) in their respective country. All of us here in Canada as well as our teams and partners in Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales are continuing to work hard to ensure we can again give you memorable and unforgettable trips with RIT in 2021 and beyond.

In this ever-changing environment, we have updated our terms & conditions to allow you more flexibility when booking a vacation with RIT. Once you book and deposit with us, you can now change your departure date or tour for ANY reason up to 30 days prior to departure. The deposit is transferable to another date within 18 months of the initially scheduled trip departure date. Valid for new bookings only made after August 3, 2020.

Our coach tour groups have never been too big, with a maximum of 38 guests. However, for 2021, we will be reducing our group sizes significantly. Our first-class coach tours will now operate with a maximum of 30 guests on a full size coach, including many more tours operating with a max of 16 guests.

We pride ourselves on having expert, well informed staff who have received regular training and updates on the current travel situation in Ireland and the UK. If you have any questions or concerns about travelling to Ireland, Scotland, England or Wales, please visit the Canadian travel advisory website, speak with your travel advisor or call us toll free on 1866-907-8687. We are here to help in any way we can, and we hope to welcome you again in 2021.
