Belfast

Leaving Dublin this morning, we journey north into Northern Ireland, bound for Belfast. Along the way, we stop at Monasterboice, a 5th-century Christian settlement renowned for its round tower, medieval churches, and some of the finest high crosses in Ireland, including the celebrated Muiredach’s High Cross.

On arrival in Belfast, enjoy a panoramic tour of the Falls and Shankill Roads, where murals and memorials tell the story of The Troubles and their impact on the city and the island as a whole.

This evening is yours to explore Belfast at leisure. With a wealth of dining options, you might choose Robinson’s Bistro, serving hearty pub fare for over a century, or indulge at Deanes, the award-winning restaurant of renowned chef Michael Deane.

After breakfast, we visit the Titanic Belfast Visitor Centre, where the story of the legendary RMS Titanic comes to life. From standing in the shipyard where it was built to retracing its maiden voyage, you’ll explore the ship’s enduring legacy.

Following your visit, take advantage of a transfer into the city centre and enjoy the afternoon at your leisure. This evening, gather for a traditional supper at The Old Inn. Established in 1614, this historic inn is full of charm, with cosy corners, elegant interiors, and sweeping views over the surrounding country park.

Derry

Today we journey north along the stunning Antrim Coast, with a stop at the Glenariff Teahouse in Glenariff Forest Park. Enjoy coffee or tea with freshly baked scones while taking in beautiful views of the park before continuing to one of Ireland’s most iconic sights—the Giant’s Causeway.

According to legend, the great Irish giant Fionn mac Cumhaill built the causeway to confront his Scottish rival Benandonner, though science tells us it was formed by volcanic activity millions of years ago. Myth or geology, the result is the same: a breathtaking landscape of hexagonal stones that will leave you in awe.

After lunch, we visit the dramatic ruins of Dunluce Castle on a guided tour before traveling on to the historic walled city of Derry. The last city wall built in Ireland and the only one still fully intact, Derry’s fortifications remain a powerful reminder of the island’s history.

Derry & Sligo

This morning, a local guide will lead us on a walking tour of Derry, bringing to life the city’s turbulent past and enduring spirit. From here we travel to Irish House in Donegal for an Irish coffee and a fascinating demonstration of traditional tweed weaving on an old wooden loom. You’ll then have time to enjoy lunch in Donegal town at your leisure.

In the afternoon, we continue to Sligo for a memorable sheepdog performance at Atlantic Sheepdogs, before heading to Roscommon for our final overnight stay at the magnificent Kilronan Castle. One of Ireland’s most luxurious castle hotels, Kilronan offers the perfect finale to your journey. After checking into your room, enjoy a special dinner in the castle, followed by a relaxing drink or tea by the fire in the grand drawing room.

Dublin

After a leisurely breakfast and time to enjoy the castle grounds or spa, we begin our journey back to Dublin. Our first stop is the Arigna Mines, where a guided visit offers a fascinating insight into coal mining life in Ireland from the 1700s until the mine’s closure in 1990.

Back above ground, we continue to the Shed Distillery in Drumshanbo, home of the world-renowned Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin. Here you’ll learn the story of the distillery, discover the basics of distilling, and enjoy lunch at the inviting café, which serves homemade baked goods, specialty teas, and a range of delicious lunch options.

In the afternoon we complete our return to Dublin, where sadly, this unforgettable journey comes to an end.
