Itinerary

Killarney

Your journey begins at Dublin’s historic Heuston Station before traveling southwest through the rolling countryside of Kildare, with its world-famous stud farms and the Curragh racecourse. Along the way, look out for historic castles, cathedrals, and charming towns before arriving in Cork.

From Cork, travel by coach to Blarney Castle & Gardens, built in 1446. Here you’ll have the chance to explore the grounds, enjoy shopping, have lunch, and kiss the legendary Blarney Stone, said to bestow the gift of eloquence. The tour then continues through Cork City to the colourful harbour town of Cóbh, where highlights include St. Colman’s Cathedral and the beautifully restored Victorian railway station, now the Cóbh Heritage Centre. Here you’ll discover the moving story of Irish emigration, including Annie Moore, the first immigrant processed at Ellis Island.

In the evening, continue by train to Killarney, where the night is free to explore lively pubs, cosy cafés, and traditional Irish music in one of Ireland’s most charming towns.

Killarney

After a hearty Irish breakfast, set off on the famous Ring of Kerry, one of the most scenic drives in the world. This unforgettable route winds past Ireland’s highest mountains, through dramatic valleys, and along the shores of Dingle and Kenmare Bays, with plenty of photo and refreshment stops along the way.

Highlights include the Kerry Bog Village Museum, a fascinating glimpse into 18th-century rural life, and, on clear days, spectacular views of the Skellig Rocks, made famous by Star Wars. You’ll stop for lunch en route and visit the colourful village of Sneem, with time to stroll its pretty streets.

The tour continues through the majestic MacGillycuddy Reeks, taking in Glenbeigh and Waterville before returning via Ladies View, the Lakes of Killarney, and the oak woodlands of Killarney National Park. The evening is free to relax and enjoy a second night in lively Killarney.

Killarney

Today’s journey explores the rugged beauty of the Dingle Peninsula, one of Ireland’s most spectacular landscapes. Scattered across the peninsula are ancient forts and early Christian sites such as the Gallarus Oratory, set against sweeping Atlantic views. This is a proud Irish-speaking region, rich in traditional music, art, and culture.

Travel along Slea Head, the westernmost point in Europe, where dramatic cliffs face the vast Atlantic and views stretch to the Blasket Islands. Once home to a thriving community, the Great Blasket was evacuated in the 1950s but left behind a remarkable literary legacy, with classic works such as Twenty Years A-Growing and The Islandman penned here.

The peninsula’s combination of unspoilt scenery, cultural heritage, and rare flora and fauna makes it a highlight of any trip to Ireland. After a day filled with breathtaking views and stories of the past, return to Killarney for a third overnight stay in the heart of town.

Dublin

After breakfast, depart Killarney by road and travel north to Limerick. A short city tour introduces its fascinating history, with views of the River Shannon and the medieval King John’s Castle, as well as landmarks linked to famous locals such as Frank McCourt, Richard Harris, and Terry Wogan.

Continue on to Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, a beautifully restored 15th-century fortress surrounded by a recreated historic village. From here, journey into County Clare with a stop for lunch before arriving at the awe-inspiring Cliffs of Moher, towering dramatically above the Atlantic and offering unforgettable views.

The return route follows the scenic coast road along the unique limestone landscape of the Burren, with photo stops and visits to picturesque villages such as Ballyvaughan and Kinvara. The day concludes in Galway with some free time to explore before boarding the train for a comfortable return to Dublin, bringing your tour to a memorable close.
