Begin your journey at Dublin’s historic Heuston Station and travel southwest through the lush countryside of Kildare, passing stud farms, the Curragh racecourse, and historic towns along the way. Continue through Tipperary and on to Cork, where your adventure truly begins.
From Cork, transfer by coach to the world-famous Blarney Castle & Gardens, built in 1446. Here you’ll have the chance to kiss the legendary Blarney Stone, said to bestow the gift of eloquence, as well as explore the gardens, shop, and enjoy lunch. The tour then continues via Cork City to the picturesque harbour town of Cóbh. Highlights include St. Colman’s Cathedral and the beautifully restored Victorian railway station, now the Cóbh Heritage Centre, which tells the moving story of Irish emigration and the millions who set sail from its port.
In the evening, board the train to Killarney, where you’ll have free time to explore this lively town. With its welcoming cafés, traditional pubs, and live Irish music, Killarney offers the perfect atmosphere to round off your first day.
After a full Irish breakfast, set out on the world-famous Ring of Kerry, a route renowned for its sweeping mountain views, rugged coastline, and charming villages. The journey circles the MacGillycuddy Reeks, Ireland’s highest mountain range, and follows scenic routes along Dingle and Kenmare Bays.
Highlights include a visit to the Kerry Bog Village Museum (optional), a unique open-air display of rural life in 18th-century Ireland, and—weather permitting—stunning views of the Skellig Rocks, made famous by Star Wars. You’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch en route, with plenty of photo stops, and time to stroll through the colourful village of Sneem.
The return route takes in Glenbeigh and Waterville before arriving at Ladies View, where the famous Lakes of Killarney unfold beneath you, and through the oak woodlands of Killarney National Park. The evening is free to enjoy a second night in Killarney, with its welcoming pubs, music, and lively atmosphere.
After breakfast, depart Killarney by road to Limerick, where a short city tour introduces its rich heritage. Crossing the River Shannon, you’ll enjoy views of King John’s Castle before passing landmarks linked to notable locals such as Frank McCourt, Richard Harris, and Terry Wogan, as well as the home grounds of hurling, Gaelic football, and Munster rugby.
Continue to Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, a beautifully restored 15th-century fortress surrounded by a recreated historic village. After time to explore, travel into County Clare for lunch at a local pub, before visiting the spectacular Cliffs of Moher, among Europe’s highest sea cliffs and one of Ireland’s most iconic sights.
The return journey follows the Wild Atlantic Way along the limestone landscape of the Burren, with photo stops and views across Galway Bay. Passing through charming villages such as Ballyvaughan and Kinvara, you’ll arrive in Galway with some free time before boarding your evening train. The return to Dublin takes a scenic route via Athenry, Tullamore, and Athlone, arriving back at Heuston Station to conclude your adventure.
